4-18-2008: The College Report
11-5-2007: Shortstop Todd Stiles has signed to play baseball at University of Arkansas at Little Rock next fall. UALR is a division 1 school in the Sunbelt Conference. He is currently playing at Kirkwood Community College for Coach John Lewis. He played high school ball at Waukee, where he was an all-state selection. Congratulations!

2007 STATE RESULTS:
- Game 1 - vs. Norway - The Cubs scored first with a solo blast by Benn Stockton. Norway got even with a solo shot. Norway broke the 1-1 tie in the bottom of th 6th, pouring on 6 runs. Final score: Norway 7, Cubs 1. Cory Slining pitched great for the Cubs until that 6th inning.
- Game 2 - vs. Stadium Club - Tyler Wright pitched 6 strong innings to get the Cubs first state win in the 2 year franchise history. Rookie Kody McCauley picked up the save. The Cubs erased a 4-3 deficit in the top of the 7th to get the win. Team MVP Zach Kinsey had the game winning hit.
- Game 3 - vs. Red Top - Coach Luis Leon hoped to upset his former team. The Cubs came out ready to play, as they put 6 runs on the board in the top of the 2nd. Cubs Pitcher of the Year Thomas Rosin started out on fire, with 4 k's in the first 2 frames. The Red Top proved to be the better team as they dominated Cubs pitching starting in the bottom of the 3rd. Final Score: Red Top 23, Cubs 6. Former Iowa Hawkeye Chad Blackwell picked up the win, although his ERA is much higher now.
